Edinburgh traffic news: tram delays following city centre 'collision'

Edinburgh Trams have warned their customers today to expect possible delays and disruption following an incident in Edinburgh City Centre.

The travel operator took to Twitter to warn locals shortly before 4pm. The statement read: "Due to an incident in the City Centre service frequency may be affected. #edintravel."

It's understood there was a collision on Princes Street sometime this afternoon. It's not yet known if anyone was injured in the incident.

A spokesperson for Edinburgh Trams told Edinburgh Live that there had been a "road traffic collision near Princes Street", which was affecting tram services in the area. Trams are expected to be running as normal again soon.
