Edinburgh toddler rushed to hospital after being hit by car near Scotmid shop

An Edinburgh toddler has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car.

The two-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle on Drum Brae Avenue, near the Scotmid Co-op, at around 4.20pm on Wednesday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in the west of the city and police say the boy was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a two-year-old boy who was hit by a car on Drum Brae Avenue, Edinburgh, around 4.20pm on Wednesday, 18 August.

"He was taken to hospital as a precaution with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries."
