Edinburgh today: Sighthill fire, Jawbone appeal and film extras needed

Good morning Edinburgh.

Two adults and two children were taken to hospital overnight following a flat fire in Sighthill, reports BBC. Local firefighters attended Broomhouse Gardens at around 2am. Around ten neighbours had to leave the building. Click here to get a free home safety visit from the local fire service.

A bid to raise funds to conserve and restore the Jawbone Arch in the Meadows will be officially launched on Friday. Southside and Newington councillor Cameron Rose has set up a Facebook group to highlight the appeal.

On the final day of election campaigning here in Scotland, today's Scotsman leads with an editorial outlining its thoughts on how the 2011 Holyrood poll will go on Thursday. In its analysis, the paper describes the Forth Road Bridge replacement project as "costly." But not costly enough to stop the paper backing the SNP. We'll have a full round-up from the final day of local campaigning later today.
