Edinburgh today: LaterLeith, tram expenses and aliens in Broughton

Making Edinburgh tick today:

Greener Leith has a guest post on Leith Docks' architecture and wildlife from local resident Colin Brown.

The cost of talks between both sides involved in the Edinburgh Tram project is revealed in this Evening News report. They say the full details of the expenses are still to come.

Details of an exciting arts event in Leith have emerged on Facebook. LeithLate is a free event across ten venues over two hours, culminating in one big afterparty.

The Broomhouse Centre site has details of next weekend's Altogether In The Park - a community celebration for residents in Broomhouse, Sighthill, Parkhead and Wester Hailes with more than 50 organisations taking part.

Edinburgh-based poet and Forest volunteer Harry Giles has details of some literary events taking place next week on his blog. The next gathering of Nue! Reekie! takes place tonight from 7pm at the Scottish Book Trust just off the Royal Mile. Details on the City of Literature site.

Friends of Montgomery Street Park say everyone is invited to their picnic in the park event on Saturday from 12.30pm.

Hawke and Hunter hosts the Edinburgh Sick Kids fashion show fundraiser tonight. There are a few tickets left. Details on STV Local.

The Spurtle has noticed "alien grey invaders" on pavements throughout Broughton. The Spurtle says it "stinks" that Virgin Media began installing the boxes without permission.

The Reclaim The Night march starts outside the Usher Hall on Lothian Road at 9pm on Saturday. There are events planned throughout the day. Details on the Forest blog.
