A thug faces jail for headbutting a bouncer at a Scots gay club after being thrown out for attacking a barmaid.
Henry Mooney was ejected from CC Blooms in Edinburgh's city centre after grabbing the bar worker after she served him a drink. After being escorted from the nightclub Mooney lunged at doorman Harry Dempsey and landed a headbutt, reports the Daily Record.
Mooney, 60, was taken to a police station where he notched up a third assault by throwing his underwear at a constable’s head. Sheriff Gordon Liddle told Mooney that custody is a “strong possibility here” due to the offences and his bad criminal history.

Mooney appeared at the city's sheriff court on Monday and admitted assaulting Hannah Matthews, Harry, and Pc Adam Campbell. Fiscal depute Bruce McCrossan said it was around midnight on March 19 when Hannah served Mooney a drink in CC Blooms in Greenside Place.
Mr McCrossan said: “The accused gestured towards her, indicating he wished her to come closer. “Then, without warning, the accused leaned over the bar and grabbed her by the neck and pulled her toward him. She managed to wriggle from his clutches.”
The court was told a bouncer was alerted and second victim Harry found Mooney was “speaking in an incoherent fashion”.
Mooney was asked to step outside, the prosecutor said, but refused to leave and had to be ushered out the door. Mooney grabbed Harry’s collar during the incident, causing them both to fall to the ground.
Mr McCrossan said Mooney was demanding help “but not specifying what the help was for” before being assisted to stand. He added: “Once on his feet, he lunged towards (Harry) and headbutted him and pushed him to his body”.
The court heard Mooney was taken to St Leonard police station where he was searched and removed his underwear. Mr McCrossan said: “That’s when he threw the underwear at the officer which hit him on the head.”
Defence agent Matthew Nicholson said the bar incidents took place on Mother’s Day after his client had been visiting his late mum’s grave. Mr Nicholson said his client had started drinking on the train back from Liverpool as he was in a “low mood”.
Sheriff Liddle deferred sentencing on Mooney, of the city’s Restalrig area, for reports.
