Edinburgh thieves drive campervan through locked garage doors in midnight raid

A 'gutted' Edinburgh creative studio has asked locals to 'keep your eyes peeled' for their stolen campervan after it was nicked from Portobello Kwik Fit.

According to an eyewitness, callous thieves rammed the van through the high street garage's shutters from the inside of the building and disappeared into the night.

Studio S&Co spoke on their Instagram of how the van was crucial for visiting sites and remote working locations.

The Silver T6 Transporter is 'fairly distinctive' with black steel wheels, black grille, black roof bars and roof box, along with blacked out windows on a metallic silver body. The vehicle also has a pop top and rear kitchen.

The van also had a puncture so S&Co worry that it may been abandoned and 'may not have made it far from Edinburgh'.

It is expected that the van will likely be suffering some damage from being driven through the shutter.

Police Scotland said : "We're appealing for the public's help to trace a van which was stolen from the Portobello area of Edinburgh.

"Anyone who may have seen the van since it was stolen, or has information on its current whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 4425 of 30 January 2021 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
