Wetter Edinburgh? Temperatures set to drop but NO 'Arctic blast' to hit this Bank Holiday weekend

According to reports, "winter is coming" to the UK this Bank Holiday weekend but Edinburgh will not be affected by the so-called "Arctic blast".

While temperatures will not match April's Bank Holiday scorcher - dropping to a chillier nine degrees from Friday - it is not going to snow...or sleet, or even rain over the weekend.

It's looking to stay dry from Friday to Sunday, with sunny intervals and a slight breeze, thought there is a chance of rain on Monday - that doesn't sound so bad, does it?

In fact, Met Office forecaster Luke Miall said there is only a "small chance of seeing some snow in North East Scotland with some hail coming out of eastern areas in England."

So before you pull out your wellington boots and get ready to hunker down with a stockpile stash of snacks, the weather really isn't looking too bad here.

It may not be taps aff like the last Bank Holiday but it won't stop you getting to the pub or out and about.
