Edinburgh teenager rushed to hospital after falling from a window in Newington

A teenager was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary this afternoon after falling from a window on a Newington street.

Emergency services attended the scene at around lunchtime today after receiving a report of a 19-year-old man on South Oxford Street plunging from a flat.

The teen was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment but police did not update on his current condition, reports the Daily Record.

The incident occurred at around 12.40pm on Sunday 14 February and is not being treated as suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.40pm on Sunday, we received a report of a 19-year-old man having fallen from a window on South Oxford Street.

“The man has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, however there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
