Edinburgh teen seriously injured after being stabbed in daytime Gorgie attack

An Edinburgh teenager has been left seriously injured after he was stabbed in a broad daylight attack.

The incident happened at around 5pm on Monday (19 October) in the Westfield Court area.

The 18-year-old victim fled into a shop on Gorgie Road with a stab wound to his leg and was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

There is no description of the suspect, say police.

Officers have now launched an appeal and are urging anyone who witnesses the incident or saw suspicious behaviour in the area to come froward.

Detective Sergeant Rory Legge, of Corstorphine CID, said: "This happened at a busy time of the day and we know there would've been a lot of traffic and people in the area.

"I would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or saw any suspicious behaviour around the Westfield Court area just before 5pm on Monday to contact us."
