Edinburgh Taxi Outing 2019 - Pictures of colourful cabs as city children are treated to a day out

On Tuesday, a procession like no other made its way through Edinburgh.

The 2019 Edinburgh Taxi Trade Childrens' Outing saw dozens of decorated cabs take special children for a free seaside visit and day out.

The annual tradition takes place on the second Tuesday in June, with the city's drivers volunteering their time and vehicles for the charity event.

The children were armed with water bombs and Super Soakers, with plenty of people getting splashed as the convoy passed by.

Drivers and kids also dressed up in costumes for the event which started at Edinburgh Zoo at 10am, making tis way down the Royal Mile before heading on to Musselburgh.

This year saw some brilliantly-decorated taxis including a Highland cow made from balloons, a muppet-themed cab and one featuring a giant robot sitting on the roof.
