Edinburgh supercar fleet worth millions descends on city centre

Edinburgh locals have been sharing snaps of a huge gathering of supercar drivers and their vehicles as the group prepares to travel to Manchester as part of Modball Rally UK.

The cars arrived at the city's George Hotel this morning as part of the race across Britain.

Modball Rally is a prestigious motoring tour that takes place around Europe, the USA and Australia and attracts hundreds of high-spec cars each year.

It’s pretty expensive to enter, but participants get treated to parties and black-tie dinners at the stopovers.

This year's event is 100 cars maximum in the convoy, with a price of tag of £1500 per car with two people per vehicle.

The cars will make their way across the UK, with the rally ending in London. Tomorrow drivers from the capital will begin the next leg from Manchester to the UK capital.

Pictures shared online show groups of drivers and their luxury vehicles outside the George Hotel before they headed to Wray Castle - their first stop on today's trip to Manchester.
