Edinburgh Summerhall's legendary courtyard reopens - with Pickering's Gin and Barney's Beer

In our ever-growing list of places to head for a socially distanced pint this weekend, Summerhall have announced that they are reopening their beautiful courtyard this week as Scotland moves into phase three of lock-down measures.

Summerhall’s Courtyard, a hub year round for patrons of The Royal Dick pub and the centre point of the theatre communities Edinburgh Festival Fringe is back and there's plenty for punters to get stuck into.

They've got cosy tables for two and picnic benches for up to six people available in two hour slots for the socially distanced courtyard which captures the sun throughout the day.

On tap will be Barney’s Beer and Pickering's Gin, both brewed on site having worked through lock-down on alternative revenue streams.

Summerhall's resident cleaning company Daybreak have also been working to deep clean the entire site, using hospital-grade testing to declare the courtyard as Covid-19 Hygiene Certified.

Located next to the Meadows, it's easy to pop into Summerhall for a slot and support before returning to your favourite sunbathing spot.

Summerhall's courtyard is open Thursday – Sunday, 2pm – 10pm and bookings can be made here, although you need to be quick as they're filling up quick.
