An Edinburgh catering social enterprise is appealing to clothing retailers or individuals for a donation or loan of suits so three of their young people they support can attend a black tie function.
Scran Academy are a catering start up that supports vulnerable young people to transition from the classroom in to the work place and wider society in general.
They offer first-hand work experience and training in the food and drink industry and cater for a variety of events companies and occasions.
Founder John Loughton has launched a social media appeal to try and find suits for three of the youngsters who are set to attend Friday’s event at the Dalmahoy Hotel and Country Club.
Access to formal wear isn’t a given or affordable to everyone and, and Scran Academy are appealing to Edinburgh retailers and individuals who are willing and able to help.
“Dressing up and looking smart is something young people often enjoy,” John Loughton tweeted. "They are very special people who deserve to shine at a charity event (but so often I wish jeans did the trick!)"
