Edinburgh Six by Nico: 'Chippie 2.0' menu, how to book as wildly popular six course menu returns

Six by Nico is making an entrance on its return to the capital's restaurant scene, by throwing it back to the widely popular chippie menu.

Edinburgh locals love their chippies, so this is sure to go down a treat as Hanover Street's Six by Nico reopens on Friday 17 July.

The exciting news comes following twelve long weeks of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The eagerly anticipated first six-course menu will feature the hugely popular take on the traditional fish and chip shop - a menu that was first introduced to Edinburgh foodies in 2018.

Dishes on 'The Chippie 2.0' menu include chips and cheese with parmesan espuma and curry oil, as well as steak pie with burnt onion ketchup and (of course) there's a deep fried mars bar to top it all off with orange sorbet and cocoa nibs.

There is also a vegetarian option available for each course.

Restaurants will re-open with a reduced capacity and you can now book your spot here as reservations go live.

Chef Nico Simeone said: “The Chippie was originally designed to bring a sense of fun & nostalgia, and when talking to our team and Six by Nico community about which menu we wanted to re-open with, it was clear we wanted to bring those feelings back.

"When we launched our restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh, The Chippie was hugely popular so not only does this mean our existing customers get the opportunity to experience a new version, but it gives us the chance to share it with even more people the second time around”.
