Today the new St James Quarter opened up in Edinburgh for the first time after five years of anticipation.
Shoppers flocked to see the new £1 billion development which boasts over 40 stores - but it was the new Lego store that proved the most popular with customers.
Queues for the Lego store, which is situated near the Princes Street entrance of the new shopping centre stretched as far as the eye can see and spilled out onto the street.
Eager shoppers told Edinburgh Live how they had faced waiting times of 40 minutes to an hour to get into the toy store, with some giving up altogether.
Edinburgh local Ian said: “The Lego store that we came in for had a 40-minute queue and we didn’t manage to go there.”
The busy Lego shop queue was being controlled by stewards and had been separated into three sections which each take you closer to the front door of the store.
The new shop is Lego’s second Scottish venture, with the only other store in in Buchanan Galleries, Glasgow.
