While many of us will be waking up to gifts under the tree this Christmas, some kids won't be so lucky.
That's why The Portobello Bookshop have teamed up with Home-Start Leith & North East Edinburgh to help the city’s most vulnerable children and young people.
The bookshop has put up a Christmas tree that has a very special purpose. Alongside glittering baubles, you will find gift tags with requests for books for young readers.
One such request says: "A book about cars or transport for a two-year-old boy."
Shoppers can take the card to the till along with a book of their choice and the booksellers will wrap them and make sure they are delivered ahead of Christmas.
A statement on The Portobello Bookshop Twitter reads: "This year you can help give books to some of Edinburgh’s most vulnerable children and young people.
"We’re working with @Homestartleith who’ve provided us with book requests that are now on our tree. We’ll ensure any books you buy reach their recipients before Christmas."
