Edinburgh shop challenges capital's hot sauce lovers in spice-filled doughnut eating contest

In a bizarre mash-up of sweet, savoury and spicy, Edinburgh heat-handlers can partake in an eating challenge like no other this weekend.

Kilted Donut in Leith, well-known for their incredible doughnut flavours and combinations, are holding fiery Scotch Bonnet doughnut eating contest at their store on Sunday 29 November.

Simply demolish three mouth-destroying Scotch Bonnet-laced doughnuts in under two minutes and you could win more than just bragging rights that you can handle the heat.

Winners will take home a voucher for six of Kilted Donut's delicious treats (spice optional) and a bottle of hot sauce from the Bonnie Sauce Co.

The competition costs a fiver to enter to cover the cost of the flame-filled handmade artisan doughnuts (boxes of six normally cost £12.50).

Kilted Donut on Great Junction Street offer seven rotating flavours each week, from their catalogue of 40 options including French Toast, Maple Bacon, Red Velvet and more.
