Edinburgh set to be as scorching as Madrid this week as temperatures rise to 22C

It's set to be a scorcher in Edinburgh this week, as the capital will see temperatures heat up to similar degrees as some Spanish cities.

According to Met Office meteorologists, Edinburgh will reach balmy highs this week - the same as Madrid in Spain on the same day.

By Tuesday, May 30, the capital will experience clear, sunny skies and 22C weather, with lows of 10C and little to no chance of rain.

The rest of the week in the capital will see more cloud creep in, with highs of 17C on Saturday, June 3. The rain will steer clear until Friday, June 9 at the earliest, according to BBC Weather.

Six straight days of 17C weather will occur from Saturday, June 3 until Thursday, June 8, before some light showers will appear in Edinburgh.
