Edinburgh ScotRail train crammed full of passengers 'unable to socially distance'

A Scotrail customer was left angry after snapping a picture of an Edinburgh to Dalmuir train packed full of people with 'no social distancing.'

The passenger took to Twitter to complain to the rail operator that customers had been left unable to socially distance due to the train only having 'three carriages.'

The picture shows multiple passengers standing closely together on the busy train.

Scotrail told the customer that they "can't guarantee that you'll be able to physically distance at all stages of your journey."

The passenger posted two angry emojis on Twitter, writing: "@ScotRail no social distancing yesterday or today Edinburgh to Dalmuir only three carriages."

A spokesperson for Scotrail responded: "We're using every carriage available, but we can't guarantee that you'll be able to physically distance at all stages of your journey.

"To help reduce the likelihood of crowding, we've been asking customers not to board a train if it looks busy."
