From next week parents in Edinburgh will be getting a much-deserved break as schools across Scotland return for the first time since March.
Yesterday Edinburgh Council announced that schools in the capital will return full-time on a staggered basis.
Pupils will be returning to their schools on either Wednesday 12 or Thursday 13 August depending on their surname.
In May, we reported on the provisional school term dates for the remainder of 2020 and 2021, according to The City of Edinburgh Council.
However, these have since been updated in consideration to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Here are the latest school term dates as listed on Edinburgh Council's website:
2020
Term starts Wednesday 12 August 2020.
Mid-term holidays
- Monday 21 September 2020, autumn holiday
- Monday 19 to Monday 26 October 2020, mid term break
Term ends Tuesday 22 December 2020.
Christmas holidays
- Wednesday 23 December 2020 to Tuesday 5 January 2021
