A large number of pupils are self-isolating at another Edinburgh primary school after a coronavirus outbreak.
Three primary classes and one nursery class at Stenhouse Primary school in the west of the city have been told to stay at home for ten days after positive cases were confirmed.
Parents who have children in the affected classes have been informed, with those not affected advised to attend school as normal for the time being.
Any child who develops symptoms of the virus has been asked to self-isolate and book a coronavirus test immediately.
The school is not the first to have reported cases in recent weeks, with a number of education centres around the capital confirming transmission.
Currently, the largest outbreak is at Davidson's Mains Primary, where the entire school has been closed in an attempt to curb transmission.
After closing for an initial seven days, the council confirmed the school would remain shut until at least June 7, with all pupils asked to complete online learning instead.
Speaking about the outbreak at Stenhouse Primary, a City of Edinburgh Council spokesperson said: “We are working with NHS Lothian’s Health Protection team and parents and the wider school community have been provided with information and reassurance. We will continue to monitor the situation and follow the advice provided.”
It comes as 677 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Scotland on Wednesday (June 2), as well as one new death.
160 of the new cases were confirmed to be in the NHS Lothian health board region.
