Edinburgh sauna owner issues warning after 'personal adverts' left on door of closed venue

Last week Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that all entertainment venues - including massage parlours and saunas - were to close immediately to help the fight against coronavirus in the UK.

However, one owner of a sauna in Edinburgh has been shocked to find that patrons have been leaving notes of the door of their venue for one another - including personal information such as phone numbers and addresses.

In an email to Edinburgh Live, an Edinburgh local wrote: "[They] are ignoring government advice and have been leaving notices on the front door of the sauna with their address details in the hope that others see their notes to meet for sex.

"This is totally unacceptable - the sauna has since advised anyone who leaves any further notes will be reported to the local authority immediately.

In a tweet on their account, The Pound emphasised to their customers that "you should be practicing SOCIAL DISTANCING and not inviting non-household members to come into contact with you."

The warning comes as chief medical officer Dr Catherine Calderwood has suggested that lockdown measures may be in place in Scotland until June.
