An Edinburgh Sainsbury's store is urging customers to return a product that has failed to identify an allergen on the ingredients list.
Sainsbury’s own Taste the Difference Pesto Swirl Hummus packaging did not declare milk in the ingredients despite containing the common dairy allergen.
They also shared a warning over Fray Bentos Just Chicken pies due to a 'potential risk of plastic being found in the product'.

A sheet of paper seen stuck on the notice board at the Leith Walk branch shows the product recall flyer which declares an "Important Safety Warning" about the hummus product.
Packaging which labels the code 8063018 and has the use by date April 20, 22 and 23 are affected and should not be consumed by anyone with a milk allergy.
The product can be returned for a refund at the customers nearest Sainsbury's store.
For the pie products, Batch code LO79T BBE 09/2023 are affected.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “We are recalling Taste the Difference Pesto Swirl Houmous 200g as it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
“If customers have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, we are asking them not to consume it and to return it to their nearest store for a full refund. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
As Natasha's Law was passed in October last year requires all food retailers to display full ingredients and allergen labelling on every food item made on the premises and pre-packed for direct sale.
Milk is on the list of 14 major allergens in the UK and must be declared by law on items being sold to customers.
