Edinburgh's weather today – temperatures to be hotter than yesterday as mini heatwave continues

All week long the weather experts have been forecasting a scorching Easter weekend – with 'taps aff' conditions certainly on the cards.

And the people of Edinburgh will be delighted to hear that they were spot-on, with more cracking weather coming to the capital today (Saturday).

Yesterday the city was basking in temperatures of around 20-degrees meaning it was warmer here than it was in the likes of Lisbon and Madrid.

And today it could be even hotter with the Met Office predicting highs of 22 degrees later this afternoon.

Throughout the morning it's forecast to be around 17 or 18 degrees before things rise above 20 at around 3pm. Experts are predicting the weather to be at its hottest between 4pm and 6pm – meaning things are teed-up perfectly for that weekend barbecue.

High teens are forecast for the rest of the evening meaning there's no reason at all to head indoors, unless it's to fetch some more sun cream.
