Edinburgh's weather on Thursday: Yellow weather warning for ice as temperatures plummet

If you're driving to work today you will need to be up bright and early to defrost your car, as there's more bone-chilling temperatures in store for Edinburgh today.

Thankfully, it won't be quite as chilly as yesterday but Edinburgh and Lothians residents can expect to wake up to more subzero temperatures today.

However, the Met Office have issued an urgent yellow weather warning for dangerous ice in Edinburgh.

It will be minus one degrees at around 6am until 9am but it's not all bad news because, once again, there is no rain forecast throughout the day.

The sun is to break through the clouds from around 8am and last until 11am, when clouds will begin to roll in.

Temperatures will reach highs of around five degrees at their peak, from 1-3pm.

We'll be bringing you traffic and travel updates throughout the day.
