Edinburgh's weather on Monday: It's set to be a cracker – until dinner time at least

Edinburgh and Scotland as a whole is famous for its changeable weather – especially during the summer time.

And never has this been more evident than in the last week, with both sunshine and heavy showers aplenty.

Well, we're set for more of the same today.

The Met Office say that things should start of brilliantly – with sunshine and temperatures of around 14 or 15 degrees for much of the morning.

As we head towards lunchtime more cloud is set to arrive, but things should still be warm – even reaching 17 degrees around 2pm.

It should stay like that for much of the afternoon, with the rain crucially staying off.

However forecasters say things are likely to take a turn for the worse around 6pm tonight with wet weather set to arrive.

The showers should become lighter as the night goes on, but they are expected to continue until around 9pm.

So, it a nutshell, it's probably best to prepare for a little bit of everything today.
