Edinburgh's weather on Monday: Another frosty morning ahead

Get your de-icing kit ready again, as another frosty morning is on the way in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

The recent spell of cold weather led to some bone-chilling temperatures being recorded in the capital last week.

While things may not be as bad as Wednesday, commuters will still need to wrap up warm ahead of rush hour.

Temperatures will feel around -2C at 9am, and will hover around freezing for most of the morning.

The mercury will slowly begin to rise in the afternoon but the maximum temperature will only be 5C.

It will stay dry and sunny throughout the day in Edinburgh, so the daylight hours will feel brisk. Some areas further to the south may have scattered rain.

The Met Office says: "A cold frosty start then dry and sunny day for most.

"Some patchy cloud along the east coast with perhaps the odd isolated shower towards Eyemouth."

We'll be bringing you traffic and travel updates throughout the day.
