Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre is offering £1 tickets to people on benefits

Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre has launched a brand new ticket scheme following a year-long pilot, in a bid to improve accessibility amongst audience members.

The city centre theatre, which is located just off Lothian Road, has showcased new theatre works since 1963, working with "the newest and rawest talent".

The theatre's scheme offers a limited number of £1 tickets to young people under the age of 25 and people who are receiving Job Seeker's, Employment Support Allowance, Universal Credit or Carer’s Allowance.

How to claim £1 tickets?

It's simple to get involved, all you have to do is:

  1. Fill out this online registration form.
  2. Choose the production you'd like to see and which performance you'd like to attend.
  3. Come along to the Traverse Theatre box office with proof of age or JSA/ESA/UC status, or register online using the form below.
  4. Purchase your ticket for £1 in person or online (subject to availability).
