This year's Food Awards Scotland, which 'celebrates the best in the food industry; from the excellent restaurants, chefs and servers, to the specialists and suppliers', has unveiled its finalists for this 2022.
As we've reported earlier in the week, several Edinburgh food and drink spots have been nominated this time round and winners will be crowned during a black-tie ceremony taking place at Glasgow's Marriott Hotel on September 19.
And one of the most highly-anticipated categories is the Best Indian Restaurant award, which sees 10 eateries from across the country competing for the top prize.
Two Indian establishments from Edinburgh have found their way on to the shortlist, meaning they could soon be crowned Scotland's best, next month.
Capital favourite Dishoom is one of the 10 nominees, perhaps unsurprisingly given its popularity. The legendary Indian restaurant is famous in the capital city for its morning Bacon Naan Rolls, with their delicious food described as ‘Bombay comfort food’, enjoyed by locals since the venue opened on St Andrew Square in 2016.
And the second capital eatery to make the top 10 is Chaskaa Indian Restaurant, much-loved and known for 'bringing the authentic taste of food from the streets of India' on Leven Street, near the King's Theatre. It continues to get a series of rave reviews with many hailing it as the 'best' in Edinburgh.
