Edinburgh's 'secret' beer garden warns chilly punters are stealing from them

A 'secret' beer and cocktail garden near Calton Hill in Edinburgh has launched a 'hot water bottle amnesty' after punters left with them.

Dinna Tell Bar and Restaurant has been making sure that its customers can enjoy a pint whatever the weather (and let's be real, we need all the help we can get in Scotland these days) and have been dishing out blankets and hot water bottles to keep drinkers warm.

However, it would appear that the bar's idea may have been just too good after some guests decided to take hot water bottles home with them - despite the venue only being open for two weeks after months of closure due to lockdown.

Writing on Instagram Dinna Tell said: "Maybe our hot water bottles idea was a little too good! Genuinely if you do have any please bring them back! We won't be mad we promise!".

The caption accompanied an image that said: "Dinna Tell hot water bottle amnesty - reward = internal happiness.

"If you have 'borrowed' one, we promise we won't judge you - but please bring it back soon! We're missing quite a few."

Pub-goers were quick to back the staff, with one writing: "You need to microchip them".

Located at the Royal Terrace Hotel, Dinna Tell dishes out cocktails and gourmet hotdogs from its hidden garden - follow them on Instagram here.
