Edinburgh's S Luca in Morningside attracts large lockdown crowds forcing people on to the road

The re-opening of S Luca ice cream store in the Morningside area of Edinburgh has attracted large crowds as Edinburgh locals queue up in lockdown to get their ice cream fix.

But concerned locals have highlighted how the combination of large queues and narrow pavements has led to people walking along a busy main road to maintain social distancing.

The popular ice cream shop is situated on Morningside Road next to busy junction Holy Corner and pictures reveal locals walking alongside cars to avoid crowds.

One local raised concerns online saying "Morningside Road this afternoon: narrow pavements and queues (Luca's ice-cream) and #SocialDistancing equals people will walk in busy roads..."

Another person raised the issue with the Council writing: "Edinburgh City Council are there ways to report this?"

Edinburgh City Council said that "there is no dedicated authority" that they know of but that they would advise locals taking up the issue with "police on 101"
