Edinburgh's Prestonfield House to open breathtaking outdoor terrace as lockdown eases

As lockdown rules are due to ease on Monday (April 26), outdoor terraces and beer gardens across the country will finally be able to reopen.

One of which is Prestonfield House, who have stunned customers with new images of their Tapestry Terrace and tea house that will open in the coming days.

With unbelievable views over to their landscaped gardens and Arthur's Seat, the house is also home to a number of peacocks which will roam the gardens as you tuck in.

Originally built in 1687, the building was even designed by Sir William Bruce, who was also the architect for Holyrood House at the bottom of the Royal Mile.

Serving both lunch, dinner and afternoon tea, the five-star house hotel will be open for visitors to both stay or dine with them, with owner James Thomson sharing his excitement to finally welcome locals back.

Also owner of The Witchery Thomson, said:

“It is both a huge pleasure and relief to announce the reopening of Prestonfield House on 26th April. We are confident we will be able to offer a safe experience for guests with all of the indulgence and relaxation you would normally expect from a stay with us.

“The support we’ve received so far has been overwhelming – we’ve had to bring back extra staff to cope with demand as bookings have skyrocketed.

“The entire team is so thrilled to be welcoming guests again soon. Everyone is ready to get back to doing what they do best; providing warm hospitality and excellent food and drink in the wonderful Scottish capital.”

Open from 12-8pm, you can find more information on Prestonfield here.
