Edinburgh's Mana Poke Bowls warns rude customers 'this is not McDonald's'

Edinburgh's hugely popular Mana Poke Bowls issued a no-nonsense warning to rude customers – telling them "this is not McDonald's".

Those at the Hawaiian street food spot shut down those who had been abusive and rude to staff after having to wait for their food.

In a 'public notice' shared to social media, they told diners "we know you're hungry but don't be a d**k".

They said: "This is not McDonald's. Sometimes, when it's busy, you'll have to wait a few mins on your bowl which is freshly prepared to order.

"Regardless of how long the wait is, it's never an excuse to be rude/abusive towards our team members (many of them new) who are just doing their level best.

"We know you're hungry but don't be a d**k. Have fun."

Mana Poke Bowls, based on Rodney Street in Canonmills, provide "summer vibes all year round" with fresh bowls of sushi rice, protein and veg. Their poke bowls (pronounced poh-kay) are made of cubed pieces of sashimi-grade fish tossed in a choice of sauce, and served with rice, salad, pickles, slaws and salsa.
