A local charity campaigner has shared his experience with Covid, urging people not to risk catching the virus.
John Loughton, 33, revealed on Thursday he had tested positive for the virus despite taking precautions to stay safe.
The former Big Brother winner, originally from Pilton, has spent the pandemic keeping Edinburgh fed through the Scran Academy.
Speaking about his test result, John said: "Despite being cautious, I've contracted it and it's not bloody pleasant. I'm at home alone trying to power through the aches, coughing, fever and pains.
"So easy to feel somehow dirty, or bad or guilty. Be safe, be kind."
Days later, John revealed how ill the virus had made him, leaving him "bed bound".
"Age isn't immunity, neither is 'thinking' you've had it or the [sun] being out!

"I'm bed bound, dizzy, sore eyes, aching joints, fatigued, fever yet cold sweats and shivering, constant cough, broken sleep and burning pain swallowing," he wrote on Twitter.
With around 200 volunteers, John and his team have delivered tens of thousands of meals to people in need across the city.
John's efforts were rewarded by the government when he was given a BEM in the New Year honours list for his work as CEO of Scran Academy.
Scran Academy is working from five different kitchens across the city, including at Edinburgh Academy and Fettes College. Volunteers have contributed an estimated 23,000 hours of their time.
