Edinburgh Harrods store at St James Quarter close to opening with champagne bar and restaurant

Harrods' first store in Scotland is set to open in Edinburgh soon with its very own champagne bar.

It was revealed earlier this year that the upmarket retailer would be opening at St James Quarter.

The Edinburgh Harrods will be one of their unique H beauty concept stores and will have a range of beauty products, a skincare station, a mask bar and a restaurant.

Harrods are launching three of the H beauty stores this year in Edinburgh, Bristol and Gateshead after launching the first two concept stores last year in Essex and Milton Keynes.

Now Edinburgh Live can reveal that the store is close to opening, as job adverts have been posted online hiring catering staff.

The advert explains that the restaurant will be integral to the new Harrods beauty store.

It says: “This exciting new H Beauty concept is all about bringing customer experience to life, allowing them to creatively engage with and learn more about the beauty products they are purchasing, while enjoying a fun and creative retail environment where food will play an essential part. As the world’s leading luxury retail emporium, we make the impossible possible, and our hospitality offer is evolving and expanding rapidly across our stores.”

Speaking in June, Chris Pyne, director of retail at St James Quarter, welcomed the news.

He said: “This is a game changing moment not only for St James Quarter, but for Edinburgh.

“We’re excited to bring Harrods’ unrivalled reputation for exceptional retail experiences and its market-leading beauty offering to Scotland for the first time.”

Annalise Fard, director at Harrods, said: “The opening of three further H beauty stores, including the first store launch in Scotland, is a hugely important and exciting milestone for Harrods.

“The incredible response we have had to our first two H beauty store openings not only reflects the ongoing demand for exceptional, high quality retail experiences outside of London, but also the passion for beauty that exists amongst the customers we serve in these regions.”
