Edinburgh's Gleneagles Townhouse named in top ten 'best to visit in 2022' by GQ magazine

Edinburgh's highly-anticipated Gleneagles Townhouse Hotel has been included in GQ Magazine's top ten travel destinations for 2022.

The luxury hotel that is due to open on St. Andrew Square in Spring this year is the first time the historic Gleneagles brand has expanded outside of its origin of Perthshire in its 96-year history.

Consisting of 33 bedrooms, an all-day restaurant and epic roof terrace bar, Gleneagles Townhouse is set to be one of the most highly sought after destinations in Scotland, possibly even the UK.

GQ, one of the world's biggest magazine's, have labelled the hotel as one of the most exciting destinations in the world for 2022, one of the biggest compliments in the travel industry.

They said: "With its cobbled streets, Gothic architecture and dynamic gastronomic scene, Edinburgh is adding to its allure as a city break destination. Its number is set to rocket further in March when the Gleneagles Townhouse opens its doors on St Andrew Square, in the iconic building which once housed the British Linen Company and later, the Bank of Scotland.

"With a rooftop bar overlooking the city, 33 bedrooms and a private members’ club, this will be a place to see and be seen. Book a table at Timberyard, one of Edinburgh’s most exciting restaurants in a candlelit converted warehouse, while you’re in town."

The compliment paid by GQ is even greater when considering the company that Edinburgh has on the prestigious list of travel destinations.

Place in Rome, Costa Rica, Paris and Menorca help make up the list of desirable locations, with Wiltshere and Pembrokeshire being the only other UK destinations named on the list.

Each of the Gleneagles Townhouse guest room will have their own unique design, including size, orientation and ceiling height. There will also be luxury star suites overlooking the popular St. Andrew Square.
