Edinburgh's Escape Rooms to welcome back puzzle lovers as lockdown measures ease

Edinburgh's Escape Rooms will welcome back visitors tomorrow for the first time since lockdown with a range of puzzles ready to solve.

Escape have confirmed their sites in Edinburgh and Livingston, West Lothian will reopen on August 1 with a range of new measures in place.

The popular attractions have stated that lockdown was "devastating" for their organisation, which now has over 200 escape rooms across the world.

However, as lockdown has eased, the rooms have been allowed to reopen with new cleaning routines and ventilation to ensure staff and visitor safety.

From Saturday, the time between games will be increased to allow for a full sanitisation of the rooms, with groups only allowed to play in their own teams instead of merging with other visitors.

Escape have also asked customers to wear face coverings when engaging with staff, with all bookings now to be made online.

The full list of rooms reopening are as follows:

  • Edinburgh New Town
  • Edinburgh Haymarket
  • Edinburgh Morrison Street
  • Glasgow
  • Livingston
  • Dundee

Escape founder Daniel Hill said: “The coronavirus lockdown was devastating for our industry, and we’ve had to work incredibly hard to get to this stage.

“We’re delighted to now be in a position to unlock the Escape rooms and let customers enjoy the experience once again.
