Edinburgh's Civerinos launches cocktail menu named after The Commonwealth Pool's infamous slides

The High Dive - Civerinos Food Club’s latest opening in Edinburgh - have just launched their new cocktail menu featuring 'cocktails in a can' and libations named after The Commonwealth Pool’s four infamous slides.

The neighbourhood pizza joint serves up all day breakfasts (Pizza Dough Breakfast Butty say what?), world-class pizza and drinks until late with banging tunes from the renowned Civerinos family.

Located on St Leonard's Street in Newington , the new cocktails "may or may not be responsible for you losing your trunks."

The Stingray, created with Koku Kanu Rum, Wray and Nephew, Lime, Apple and Pineapple, takes its name from the near-death experience that was the flume at the Commie.

The River Rapids, the flume according to urban legend got shut down due to someone fixing razor blades to the inside of the slide with chewing gum so that it cut people up as they were passing through the flume (yes, really), is now the namesake of the refreshing rum, basil and lime offering at The High Dive.

The High Dive is Civerino's third venue in the city, housed in the former Old Montague Bar.

Civerinos are already famous in the capital for their New York style wood fired pizzas and modern Italian street food, all created from their closely guarded family recipes passed down through generations.

The new cocktail menu also features classics such as daiquiris, negronis and espresso martinis as well as cocktails in cans - a tin of juice with a wee miniature of booze jammed in it. Don't expect cans of your basic fizz here though - Gingerella, San Pellegrino and cans of Ting take centre stage.

The High Dive's menu can be viewed here.
