Edinburgh's cheapest home hits the market for £90,000 and it's pretty decent

It is not often that a property hits the market for under £100,000 in the capital, so when one does, it is worth sitting up and taking notice.

Purple Bricks have put a one bed flat up for sale in Calder Gardens for just £90,000. The home has a lounge/dining area, kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom.

The property is understood to be one of the cheapest on sale in the capital and could be the ideal purchase for a first time buyer. It is also ideally situated close to Edinburgh College in Sighthill as well as Heriot-Watt university.

Located on Calder Gardens, the flat is ideally placed for good transport links into the city centre. It is also just a stone’s throw away from the Gyle shopping centre.

The interior is currently designed in a cosy warm fashion although the wooden kitchen design and bathroom look as though they need a slight uplift. A grass area to the rear of the house also looks as though it can be shared communally amongst local residents.

Purple Bricks advertised the property on RightMove by saying: “Quietly situated in a quiet square of a popular district. Hall, lounge/dining room, kitchen, double bedroom, bathroom. Gas Central Heating. Double Glazing. Excellent storage. Ideal starter home or buy to let property.

“Calder Gardens is ideally located just under a 5-minute drive from the Edinburgh city bypass and a 10-minute drive from Edinburgh airport. The property also benefits from excellent transport links into Edinburgh city centre within a two-minute walk, as well as being close to both Hermiston Gait and the Gyle shopping centres.”
