Edinburgh Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin dealerships saved from administration

The Leven Car Company's Edinburgh businesses have been saved after buyers were found to bring them out of administration.

Grange Motors (Brentwood) Limited has bought the Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin dealerships at Corstorphine Road and Bankhead Drive. Vertu Motors PLC, which trades in Scotland as Macklin Motors, has acquired the Kia, Suzuki and Mitsubishi dealerships on Bankhead Drive.

The deals will protect 101 of the 139 jobs at Leven Cars Company, whose Selkirk premises closed down last week after the business fell into administration on 8th January.

Joint administrator Stuart Robb of Leonard Curtis said: “We are pleased to confirm the sale of the remaining parts of Leven Cars Group. Being able to secure a sale and save so many jobs in such a short timescale is testament to everyone involved, in particular the employees who have been extremely patient and understanding throughout the sale process.

“We would like to thank them for their support over the past two weeks and wish them every success in their new roles.”

Robert Forrester, CEO of Vertu Motors, wrote on Twitter: "We have completed on the deal to buy Edinburgh Kia, Suzuki and Mitsubishi from the administrators of Leven Motor Co This expands Macklin Motors and adds three new franchises! Will take us a few days to get the business back up and running but high hopes!"
