Edinburgh roads: Trains back to normal after lorry colides with bridge

A lorry collided with a bridge in Edinburgh this morning prompting travel delays between Edinburgh Park station and Haymarket.

Network Rail has now examined the bridge and confirmed that services can run as normal.

"We've received reports of a vehicle striking a bridge between Edinburgh Park and Haymarket. Services can continue to pass over the bridge at a reduced speed.

"Please keep an eye on our app and JourneyCheck as services may experience delays/cancellations," ScotRail said shortly after 9am.

But the rail operator said that after inspection, services would now run as normal as they work to get back on schedule.

"Staff have examined the bridge and confirmed services can now run as planned. We are working hard to get services back on schedule," they said.

Edinburgh Live has contacted Police Scotland for comment.
