Edinburgh road shut down near school as police and ambulance rush to incident

Emergency crews have rushed to the scene of a serious collision on a busy Edinburgh road.

Several vehicles from Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service responded to a series of calls on Monday morning following the incident on Queensferry Road.

The road remains closed westbound after Clermiston Road North, with officers cordoning off the area during their initial response.

At least two vehicles are feared to have been involved in the incident, according to local reports.

Images from the scene show at least three ambulances at the scene, with a heavy police presence also present.

One witness told Edinburgh Live the crash was just after the junction for Clermiston Primary School.

Lothian Buses has diverted two services, the 41 and 43, away from the incident, while vehicles are currently being prevented from accessing the street.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
