Edinburgh Road incident: Three men injured in one-car crash in east end

Three men have been injured following a major crash in Glasgow's east end which left a car overturned.

Emergency services including police, fire and ambulance were called to the scene of the incident on Edinburgh Road, at the junction with Crowlin Crescent, around 5.55pm on Saturday (February 27).

Two of those injured have been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment while the other remains on the scene.

Edinburgh Road is currently closed to all traffic between Cardowan Road and Stepps Road. Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "Police in Glasgow are currently dealing with a one-vehicle crash on Edinburgh Road.

"Officers were called to the incident, at the junction with Crowlin Crescent, around 5.55pm on Saturday 27 February 2021.

"Three men were injured, two have been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to their injuries, the other man is still at the scene.

"The driver has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences.

"Enquiries are continuing and local road closures are in place."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.58pm on Saturday, February 27 to reports of a road traffic accident involving one vehicle on Edinburgh Road, Glasgow.

“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene and firefighters are working alongside emergency service partners”
