Edinburgh restaurateur takes over Italian-style cafe

An experienced restaurateur has taken over a popular Italian-style cafe and takeaway in Edinburgh's business district.

Coletti & Co on Lothian Road is now co-owned by Malcolm Innes, who also owns Ting Thai Caravan in the Old Town. Innes was also behind the Wildmanwood pizza venue.

The cafe's previous owner Lia Gill had run the business for over four years and sold up to retire. It was refurbished in 2014 with a design by Mill Architects to give an authentic Italian cafe feel while retaining original features such as the cornicing.

Having been closed, the new owners are now advertising on the website for cooks bakers and serving staff.

Tony Spence, business agent at selling agent Christie & Co , said: “A great business in a prominent location within Edinburgh city centre, Coletti & Co generated a huge amount of interest from the outset, which continued until we achieved a successful sale.

“Demand within Edinburgh remains high for similar licensed restaurants as the city continues to grow with a high quality food, drink and leisure circuit.”
