Edinburgh restaurants: Canadian diner Down the Hatch tease new city centre location

Edinburgh foodies, this may just be some of the most important news we've ever had, Down the Hatch is coming to the city centre.

Based in South Queensferry, at Port Edgar, the Canadian diner's food has been a massive hit in the capital thanks to their range of quality scran, with tonnes of us making the pilgrimage for their legendary poutine and decadent burgers.

Co-owner Neal Davies, a Canadian who has lived in Scotland for 14 years, has been teasing Down the Hatch's 33.3k followers on Instagram over the past week over the location of the new restaurant.

In a post that has now gained almost 1750 likes, locals were asked where they'd like a new venue to open with guesses ranging from Leith to 'my flat'.

Panic not those who still love the trip to South Queensferry, Down the Hatch will be staying out in Port Edgar as well.
