An Edinburgh restaurant is gearing up to put on a feast today for those who are most in need on Christmas Day.
Riverlife, a French-Caribbean restaurant on Dalry Road, are opening their doors from 1-4pm for people experiencing homelessness and struggling families who could benefit from a free meal.
They restaurant's owners, Mario and Bumba, will be offering an all-you-can-eat buffet and promise a warm welcome from staff who will be happy to chat to anyone wanting company.
Emergency Services personnel working today are also invited along to share in the buffet.
Peter Dillon, of Dillon Facilities Services Group, is helping to organise the day. Having experienced homelessness himself, he says that more needs to be done.
He said: "We're hoping to have around 100 to 150 people come through the door tomorrow. Some might want to take there's away, others can sit and talk to staff.
"We have so many people offering to volunteer to help out which is amazing to give up there time."
Riverlife are not the only restaurant opening their doors to help those in need today, scores of kind-hearted businesses and charities in Edinburgh are serving festive meals for free.
