The Pizza and Pasta awards, or PAPA for short, recognise some of the most popular and outstanding Italian food and drink in the UK.
The Vittoria group also ran away with more impressive awards. La Favorita, the group's pizzeria, earned not one, but two gold awards for Best Pizzeria and Best Delivery.
In a separate category, the PAPA Gold Award for Best Italian Restaurant, judged by renowned TV chef, Theo Randall, went to Divino Enoteca, which is actually situated below Vittoria, on Merchant Street.
The Vittoria Group was established in Edinburgh in 1970, with a single restaurant on Leith Walk. The three generation family-run business now has a number of award-winning Italian eateries throughout the city, with the two that won awards joining the likes of Taste of Italy and Bertie's Restaurant and Bar.
The awards wrapped up a more than impressive outing for Vittoria, with Group Director, Leandro Crolla, sharing his excitement on the quadruple award win.
He said: "To win any award is a massive achievement for us and the whole Vittoria family, especially our hard working teams who, like many others, have had an incredibly difficult 18 months with the uncertainty of restrictions and the ever-changing rules around COVID and the hospitality industry.
"There has been a huge staff shortage in hospitality throughout the UK so our team has been working and working even harder than ever. They really deserve this award. A special shout out goes to our Head Chef at Vittoria on the bridge, Jaroslaw Rubinkowski, he’s not just a pillar of Vittoria on the Bridge but of the whole Vittoria team."
The Vittoria group are using this success to prepare for a bigger and brighter future. Divino Enoteca are currently planning new menu options, improving training standards, and ensuring the safety of their staff.
