Edinburgh restaurant moves to other side of capital due to Leith tram works

A popular Elm Row restaurant has announced today that they have moved to other side of Edinburgh due to the ongoing tram works in the Leith area.

Lucky Yu Canteen - an Asian inspired restaurant known for their incredible handmade dumplings and bao buns - have moved from Leith Walk and reopened in Tollcross as a takeaway and delivery eatery.

Having been silent on social media since July 4 of this year (stating that they were closed and "won't be reopening for some time"), the restaurant reappeared on Instagram today to share the good news that they are still very much part of Edinburgh's food scene.

The team citied that it wouldn't have been feasible to reopen at the Leith Walk site "after lockdown and with the tram works going on".

They wrote: "From today we have reopened as a takeaway and delivery joint in Tollcross. As much as we will miss our little restaurant on Leith Walk, it just wasn't feasible to reopen after lockdown and with the tram works going on.

"The move allows us to cater for more people and experiment with new dishes for the menu.

"Thanks to everyone who has visited the restaurant, it really means a lot. We hope you'll continue to support us with our new venture."

Lucky Yu Canteen is open for orders from this evening at 36 Leven Street - you can order from them here.
