Edinburgh residents offered exclusive screening of new Sir Jackie Stewart film

Edinburgh residents are to be treated to an exclusive screening in Edinburgh of a new-feature length documentary film covering the life of Scottish icon Sir Jackie Stewart OBE.

Tickets are now on sale for the even that will be hosted at Everyman Cinema in St James Quarter on June 15 2022.

The film with explore the life of the infamous Stewart through his meteoric rise to his First Formula One Championship title in 1969 as well as battles in the 1970’s to improve racing safety within the sport.

His early life and humble beginnings in Glasgow will also be a focus point of the documentary.

The footage is made up of “immaculately restored and previously unseen archive footage” with the film investigating universal themes such as love, loss and human vulnerability.

Sir Jackie Stewart will attend the showing to share insights into his racing career, his life and his family.

Guests will also hear from the film’s executive producer, Mark Stewart.

Limited tickets are available with both individual and sponsorship opportunities.

The event will raise funds for Race Against Dementia, the global charity founded by Sir Jackie to fund pioneering research into the prevention and cure of dementia, a disease that affects 50 million people worldwide including his beloved wife, Helen.

Sir Jackie will also attend the first-ever Sir Jackie Stewart Classic at Thirlestane Castle in the Scottish Borders the following weekend- June 18 & 19 2022.

The new motoring event will showcase the career of the three-time Formula One World Champion featuring live motorsport action and an award-winning classic car show, plus memorabilia from Sir Jackie’s career and a stunning display of cars from throughout his career including his Formula One cars.

The event is understood to be family friendly and will also include a car show of more than 1,200 vintage and classic cars from the Borders Vintage Automobile Club, as well as entertainment, a food and drink village and an arts and crafts pavilion.
