Residents of Edinburgh were left stunned as two military grade helicopters circled the capital at low altitude, before making their way to West Lothian.
The two low-flying aircraft, which are believed to be property of either the Royal Navy or Royal Air Force, were spotted flying above the city centre and circling near to residential areas.
One local resident told us: ""I was working from home when I heard a loud noise outside, it sounded like more than one helicopter, and when I looked out the window there were two of them.
"They circled around, almost like they were showing off, and headed into the distance.
"It looked like they were flying pretty low but it was entertaining nonetheless."
As well as making their rounds from the city centre, the two helicopters travelled further west, to the residential area of West Lothian.
One concerned West Lothian resident said: "I almost fell out of my car when I heard the loud rumbles!
"I had just gotten home from work and turned my car off, when I heard the helicopters flying overhead, and I genuinely thought the Army were rolling into Whitburn!
"Thankfully, they passed by, and I am sure it's nothing serious."
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Defence confirmed that the aircraft look to be either Royal Navy or Royal Air Force helicopters.
The helicopters flew close to the Heartlands estate in Whitburn, before heading further west towards Glasgow.
